The Great Northern series of T shirts and Prints has been created to highlight the range of supremely talented people that have come from the north and influenced the world through their cultural activity. The series ranges from music legends Lennon and McCartney to Morrissey and Marr and literally giants such as Brontë and Wordsworth. It also acknowledges art world giants from Hockney to Hirst.
The prints and t-shirts designs also include historically significant figures such as Emmeline Pankhurst leader of the British suffragette movement instrumental in women winning the right to vote and William Wilberforce leader of the movement to abolish the slave trade.
On a lighter note, Bobby Charlton and Gordon Banks who helped England win the World Cup in 1966 plus Morecambe and Wise who brought us sunshine and smiles are also included. The project isn’t complete and further names will be added on an ongoing basis.
